Although weird, growing up, my dad always used to take us to the gas station for a “treat”. Whether it was for good grades, on the way to a sports game, or just for fun, it was a special time that I will remember spent with just my dad. Most of the time, it was Speedway that we would stop at, but gas stations always remind me of those special moments that my dad would spoil us kids and get us the candy or slushees that we normally would not get on a day-to-day basis. Although it might seem very odd, I have always had a goal to visit a Buc-ee’s gas station. I have seen so many videos about what they are like on the inside, my brother lives in Texas and has always told me about them, and I knew that it was a unique experience. About a year or two ago, I made it a goal of mine to visit this gas station. Throughout the past year, both my brother and my fiances family have gotten me shirts, blankets, etc. from Buc-ee’s with the cute little beaver on them, only encouraging my desire to go there even more. Yesterday on the way home from my girl’s trip in Georgia, I FINALLY got to stop at a Buc-ee’s! It truly is a unqiue experience, with SO MANY people in one place and SO MANY things for sale at the same time. From fresh cooked food, beef jerky delis, TONS of snacks, and a lot of souvenirs, it is unlike any place I have ever been before. I am happy to be able to cross that off my bucket list and thankful for friends who supported my Buc-ee’s dream along our route home.
